Your Referral Earnings Now Land in the Same Balance as Everything Else

Refer a creator to Dropfans and earn 5% of what they make for 12 months. That money now sits in your normal account balance and pays out with your own sales — one balance, one payout, one place to look.

TL;DR

Refer someone, earn 5% of everything they generate for 12 months. That commission now lands in the same balance as your own sales, clears on the same 14-day hold, counts toward the same payout minimum, and goes out on the same payout request to the same method. It costs the person you referred nothing.

Your Referral Earnings Now Land in the Same Balance as Everything Else

Referral commission on Dropfans used to live in its own corner of the dashboard. Its own balance, its own payout, its own schedule, its own payout method. If you referred a friend and they sold something, you had two piles of money in two places and only one of them showed up where you normally look.

That is finished. Referral commission now lands in the same balance as everything else you earn.

Where the money is

Open Dashboard → Payouts. The balance at the top is now everything you have earned, from every source: your own drops, your tips, your subscriptions, your agency rev-share if you have one, and your referral commission.

There is no second balance. There is no separate payout to request. The number at the top of that page is the number.

When it clears

A commission is created the moment a sale by someone you referred settles. It then sits in Pending for 14 days.

That is not a special referral rule — it is the same chargeback hold your own sales carry, running on the same clock. When it clears, the commission moves to Available and is yours to withdraw.

Because it is in the one balance, it also counts toward the same minimum payout. A $5 commission that would once have sat on its own indefinitely now rides out alongside your own earnings the next time you cash out.

How it reaches you

The same way your sales do. You request a payout, it goes to the payout method you already have on file, on the same schedule, reviewed in the same queue.

You no longer add a separate payout method for referral money. Whatever you use for your own earnings is what commission uses.

Seeing where it came from

Two places, and they answer different questions.

Transactions answers "what have I earned". Commission appears in the list with the type Affiliate, alongside your drops and tips. The Fan column names the creator whose sale generated it, Gross is that sale, and Net is your 5%. The fee column is blank, because commission has no platform fee of its own. You can filter the list to Affiliate on its own, and the CSV export includes it.

Affiliate answers "who is earning me this". Your referral link, everyone who has signed up through it, whether they are selling yet, and what each of them has generated for you.

What it costs the person you referred

Nothing. This matters, so it is worth stating plainly rather than burying it.

The 5% comes out of our side. A creator who joined through your link keeps exactly what any other creator keeps on the same sale. You are not taking a slice of their income, and you never have to sell it to them as though you might be.

A worked example

Say you refer a creator, and a month later they sell a $100 drop.

They list it at$100
They earn$85
You earn$5

Their $85 is untouched by your commission. Your $5 appears in your Pending balance immediately, clears 14 days later, and goes out with your next payout.

Agencies count now

This is the part that is genuinely new rather than tidier.

Sales on Dropfans are always made by an individual creator profile, even when an agency runs it. That used to mean referring an agency earned you nothing, however well the creators inside it sold. If you introduced an agency with ten creators, you earned on none of them.

Now you do. If you refer an agency, you earn on the sales its creators make.

The rule is closest referrer wins. If a creator was referred directly by someone, that person earns on their sales. If they were not, it goes to whoever referred their agency. Exactly one person earns 5% on any given sale — the two never stack, and nobody’s commission is diluted by somebody else’s.

The practical consequence: an agency can refer creators and earn on them, while whoever referred the agency earns on everyone else it brings on. Both work at once.

One rate, no tiers

Everybody earns the same 5% for the same 12 months. There is no volume tier to unlock, no status that pays more, and no application needed to start — every account has a referral link in the sidebar under Refer & earn.

The rules, in full

  • 5% of everything a referred creator generates: drops, tips, subscriptions.
  • 12 months from the day they join through your link.
  • Attribution happens at signup. Someone who already has an account cannot become your referral later.
  • You earn when they earn. Referring a buyer who never sells earns you nothing.
  • Your own purchases do not count, and you cannot refer yourself.
  • Refunds reverse. If the sale underneath a commission is refunded or charged back, the commission reverses with it. You see the reversal rather than watching a number quietly change.

Nothing to do

If you have referred people already, their commission is in your balance now. No migration, no claim step, nothing to switch on.

If you have not, your link is in the sidebar under Refer & earn, or on the Affiliate tab of your Payouts page.

Referral commission is paid by Dropfans out of its own platform fee. It is never deducted from the earnings of the creator who was referred.

FAQ

Frequently asked

Where does my referral commission appear?

In your account balance on Dashboard → Payouts, mixed in with your own sales. It is not a separate balance and there is nothing separate to request. Individual entries show in the Transactions tab with the type "Affiliate", and the Affiliate tab shows your link and who signed up through it.

When can I withdraw referral commission?

Each commission clears 14 days after the sale that generated it, the same hold your own sales carry. Once clear it moves from Pending to Available and can go out with your next payout, subject to the same minimum balance as everything else.

Does referring someone cost them anything?

No. The 5% comes out of our side, never theirs. A creator who was referred earns exactly what an unreferred creator earns on the same sale.

How long do I earn on someone I referred?

Twelve months from the day they join through your link. It applies to everything they generate in that window — drops, tips and subscriptions alike.

Can I refer an agency and earn on the creators they manage?

Yes. If you refer an agency, you earn on the sales its creators make. If one of those creators was referred by someone else directly, that person earns on their sales instead — the closest referrer is always the one who gets paid, and the two never stack.

Can I refer someone who already has a Dropfans account?

No. Attribution happens when an account is created through your link. Somebody who already signed up on their own is not a referral, and clicking a link later does not change that.
